Sees-the-Living-Bull was a Crow warrior who had the reputation as a great medicine man with powerful war medicine. One very important medicine object used by such a man would have been the ceremonial pipe. Such a pipe, decorated with beads, feathers, horsehair, and even the head and skin of a duck, would have been taken on the warpath or during a horse-raid.
The ceremonial headdress, shirt, and leggings were also important and quite symbolic in their decoration. An actual Crow outfit from the mid-1800's, these soft yet heavy buckskin shirt and leggings are decorated with bands of quillwork edged with beads and embellished with numerous pictographs relating to horses captured and scalps taken.
Sees-the-Living-Bull eventually became the stepfather to, and great influencer of, the renowned war chief Medicine Crow.
