A Blackfeet woman braves the elements as the first snowfall of the winter begins to descend. Clothed in a trade cloth dress decorated with cowrie shells, she also wears a dentalium shell necklace and abalone shell earrings from the Pacific coast. A Hudson's Bay blanket adorned with a large beaded blanket strip in the traditional Blackfeet style of bold, simple, geometric designs, adds not only warmth but aesthetic appeal.
